The D-day is tomorrow when thousands of students sit for the FDDI entrance exam

The D-day is less than 24 hours away, when thousands of applicants will sit for the much awaited FDDI entrance exam. Tomorrow footwear design and development institute is due to hold its multiple choice entrance exam for which loads and loads of applicants are gearing forward. The exam will be conducted on computer and will have a multiple choice questions for which 1 mark will be awarded for every correct question and no negative marking for an incorrect question.

This year there has been a record number of applicants who have applied for the entrance exam. This is simply due to the fact that footwear and leather goods industry is on full boom. Not only there has been an increasing demand locally by Indian consumers but also there has been a large international demand

The foreign players have always been very keen in employing Indian resources and setting up factories in India as far has footwear is concerned, however India was not able to cater to an increasing demand. Now after the successful implementation of the FDDI bill being passed in Lok Sabha, the Ministry of Commerce has shown green light and is now aiming to become world’s number 1 in production of leather goods. Currently due to lack of manpower and proper skilled resources India stands at worlds number 2 superseded by China which is taking acre of most of the foreign demand.

Keeping this in mind the footwear and leather goods industry wishes to employ more and more skilled students who can effectively understand international demand and can thus become world’s number one. The FDDI is therefore looking to open more institute so that more and more students can acquire the required skills and can add to the industry and eventually to the Indian economy.
